American military service members (0 more than last week) have been reported killed in Afghanistan since the war began in 2001, according to The Associated Press.

hundred troops will remain in Afghanistan until 2016 when all troops will come home, President Barack Obama said on Monday. According to The Associated Press, Obama’s blueprint calls for 22,200 troops to come home by the end of the year, The remaining troops, dispatched throughout Afghanistan, would not be engaged in combat missions.

Afghan soldiers were killed and several others wounded on Monday in a bomb attack against a military bus. According to Reuters, the assailant pulled up next to the bus on a motorcycle and detonated the bomb.

people, including 6 members of a UN fact-finding team, were attacked Tuesday in Syria. A convoy of chemical weapons inspectors was attacked while traveling to the site of a suspected chlorine gas attack in Syria. Initial reports claimed the inspectors had been abducted, but all staff members were safe, according to CBS News.
