On Oct. 26, the Pasadena Convention Center will transform from its quiet, carpeted workaday existence into a three-day celebration of spirit, connection and awakening as the “I Can Do It” conference heads to town, featuring renowned speakers Dr. Wayne Dyer and author Louise Hay, among several other noted speakers, authors and panelists in the business of lifting consciousness.

Since the inaugural event took place in Atlanta in 2003, the conference, created by Hay and the publishing company Hay House, has graced stages across the US, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia and on several cruise ships. A total of 11 were planned for this year, and 13 are scheduled for 2013.

Its mission, according to Hay House Event Director Nancy Levin, is to connect those who write on topics related to spirituality and metaphysics with the readers who consume their wisdom.

“I see our conferences as a way to bring our books to life,” says Levin, who also authored “Writing For My Life … Reclaiming the Lost Pieces of Me: A Poetic Journey” as the result of her own personal awakening. “I love the instant community that is created when people of like minds come together. It’s magical to feel our authors connect with their audience.”

Along with hearing several conference-wide keynote speakers, participants can select from a series of workshops held at different timeslots throughout the three days. If two equally delicious talks are being held at the same time, fear not, Levin says.

“We also audio record every session, so that if you’re torn between which workshop to pick, you can always listen to the audio recording.”

Known worldwide for his self-help books and motivational speaking on the topics of inspiration and mindfulness, Dyer rose to acclaim making appearances on several national talk shows, including “The Tonight Show” and “Phil Donahue.” He now appears regularly on PBS. Hay, author of the international best-selling book “You Can Heal Your Life,” is a metaphysical lecturer and teacher and has sold more than 50 million books worldwide.
Other notable authors and speakers at “I Can Do It!” Pasadena include: Doreen Virtue, Cheryl Richardson, Brian Weiss, Gregg Braden and Bruce Lipton.

The “I Can Do It!” conference takes place Friday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. and runs through Sunday, Oct. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E. Green St., Pasadena. Admission starts at $75 for a single day, and full-conference passes begin at $275. For a full list of speakers and events, or to purchase tickets, visit icandoit.net or call (800) 654-5126.
